Introducing myself

hi there!
my name is Fadave93 (formerly "elwormo") and I'm playing Trackmania since 6 years.

You may think, that I always had fun with the game, which is not completely right. In all these years I had active phases and non active phases. The main reason was, that I was generally feeling unsatisfied with the competitions, which were mostly about nolifing and not primarily about the driving skill (in my opinion). I got bored and stopped playing it for a while.

More than a half year ago, I started competing on "fb's Weekly Race", which is hosted by Frostbeule. It's an endurance race where everybody can participate and even if you are not willing to spend hundreds of hours training, you can still reach decent placements, because the map is released only 15 minutes before the match starts. The Principe of this race is very easy to understand and the fact that you can simply joins the race makes it accessible for more players.
Lately, the race has reached over 200 players each, in the last 2 races, and keeps growing until it (maybe) reaches the player limit of the server (which is 255!). I like this race very much and it's the only thing that is keeping me playing Trackmania right now.

The few last days I was thinking about making my own Race/Cup. I'm feeling like I could do something for the community and maybe discover a new aspect of the game : Hosting and Casting a Race/Cup. My race will be similar to fb's Weekly race, but differentiate itself by some points:

Dave's 21' Cup

•  The Races will be a shortened endurance race --> 21 minutes
•  There will be only 5 minutes of Warm-up before the race starts
•  The Laps will be around 1minute long
•  The Map style will be free to the Author, but they need to consist at least out of 3 Stadium Sub-Environments             (Tech, Speed, Dirt, RPG). I'll build the first map by myself, so the players can see, what type of maps I expect to        see. More infos will follow
•  Players will get points for beating their Opponents. For example: If you win the race and 30 Players have                   participated, you'll get 30 Points. i'll open a Spreadsheet for this, where I list every Players points.
•  There will be 10 Races in total with the first race default time at 20.00 CEST on Friday 19.09.2014.
•  There will be rewards for the Top 10 Ranked players
•  The Rewards for the top 10 will be announced later in this cup.
